Carb Conversion to Weber 45 MCHH

Today I replaced the stock ZS carb with a Weber 45 MCHH side draft. The new carb should run better, be easier to tune and give a little more power.

Here is a pic of the ZS carb with the tubes labeled and the filter off.

I still need to deal with the vacuum hoses and tune the carb a little, but it seems to run great.

Here is a link to where you can get a carb like this..

I am in a quandry. My 1980 MG original carburator is on its last legs. I can't decide to go with the traditional Weber down draft with headers or use a bypass pipe to replace the CT and use the Weber 45 MCHH. I use this care for street only. When I got it, it struggled to get up to 4000 rpm. After getting rid of the resonator and putting a glass pack on the back, the car revs to 4500. I haven't took it higher than that. The difference in perfromance with the through pipe exhaust was signficant. I think getting rid of the CT altogether might give me a little more and maybe not that much less than what I would get with headers. I am interested to hear your experience and opinions.
